DESCRIPTION

• Project engineering skills are required to design, develop, test, and release new products and evolution of current products. Interface directly with external customers and suppliers and internally with purchasing, sales, product managers, testing and manufacturing functions. Demonstrate a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
• Responsible for completeness and technical accuracy of projects within established schedules. Evaluate compliance with stated project objectives, establish the DFMEA and DVP documents and follow ArvinMeritor concept to customer guidelines.
• Perform engineering calculations necessary for the design and development of the product. Calculations include structural analysis related to stress and fatigue life, geometrical fit, static and dynamic load calculations, wet disc brake sizing and heat transfer. Understand the application of geometric dimensioning and tolerances of parts.
• Establish and use good working relationships with team members and provide leadership, while interacting as part of a cross-functional work team. Good communication skills are paramount.
• Must have a minimum of five years of design / development experience with planetary axles systems for off-highway applications. Good knowledge of typical off-highway vehicle applications.
• Design and development experience of oil bath disc brakes is desirable.
• BS in Engineering discipline (BSME with MS preferred).
• Well versed in MS computer software and basic computer systems. Experience with Mechanica, ProE solid modeling, and military applications are desirable
