Plant - General Manager - Reman based
REPORTS TO: VP & GM – LOCATION: Inland Empire, CA DESCRIPTION OF POSITION (Specific functions, duties and responsibilities. Work performed) 1. Manage the day to day remanufacturing operations of the Remanufacturing facility with approximately 75 total employees 2. Full P&L responsibility for this facility; ensure facility is meeting/exceeding its monthly budgeted plan (EBITDA, labor, material, O/H variances and Mfg. expenses) 3. Support development of annual financial budgets (e.g., capacity/level of activity, capital, mfg. exp., material, labor & O/H) for this facility 4. Manage/Identify cost drivers and develop profit improvement plans/cost reductions to improve/enhance this facility’s performance to budget expectations 5. Staff Development in pursuit of functional excellence 6. Implement Quality Management System (QMS) ISO-9001-2000 within this facility as directed by the Remanufacturing Division Quality Director, and provide necessary support to maintain compliance 7. Ensure this facility is safety/OSHA compliant 8. Implement continuous improvement & lean initiatives (TPS, visual factory/5S, cellular mfg, one piece flow, SMED, fail-safe, set up reduction, employee training, KanBan, Kaizen, TPM) 9. Implement best practices by benchmarking (productivity, quality, first pass fill rates, headcount, OT, inv. levels in units/dollars, capacity, & labor rates) with internal RECON key performance metrics and industry benchmarks 10. Facility management (e.g., layouts, tenant improvements (TI’s), equipment…etc) DESCRIPTION OF JOB SPECIFICATIONS (Specific qualifications, education, experience, special skills, and personal qualities) BS-Business Management or Engineering Extensive experience in an automotive remanufacturing operations preferred Extensive hands on experience implementing “Lean” techniques/systems Minimum of ten (10) years related manufacturing experience in a multi-cultural environment Strategic thinker with excellent analytical problem solving skills Process driven individual who can interpret complex drawings, specifications, or data to make solid business decisions Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Financial analysis & cost center experience Dynamic progressive leader with a highly successful track record of acting as a positive change agent
